VIVIAN GIANNISIS
Vivian Giannisis first started practicing yoga off and on a number of years ago. After giving birth to her daughter in 2006 she decided to take a beginners class at the Chinook Yoga Studio. She developed a love and deep passion for yoga when she realized how much it helped her along her path and day to day life.
Shortly after, she chose to follow the path of Yoga and study more in depth; she graduated from the 500 hr SOYA Teacher Training Program (RYT 500) in 2010.
Vivian is grateful for the opportunity to share this passion and guide students in a safe, warm supportive environment. It gives her pure joy and peace, because of the healing effect of the body, the calming of the mind and breath.
Yoga has become the basis of her strength, confidence and joy in her life.

CAROLYN CUMMINS

When Carolyn first set foot on her mat in 1996, she found home.  Self taught to begin, she went on to take Yoga teacher training through the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Victoria in 2005, followed by more extensive training through the SOYA graduate program at the Chinook Yoga Studio of Prince George in 2006.  In 2008 Carolyn became a Laughter Yoga Leader and made it her mission bring a new found lightness into all of her Yoga instruction.  Later that year she traveled to the birthplace of Yoga, India, where she trained with various Yoga Masters.  Inspired and driven to fulfill her dharma, in 2009 Carolyn opened up her own entrepreneurial Yoga business, Inner Creations Yoga, teaching at many locations all over Prince George.  In both 2009 and 2010, she attended the Vancouver International Yoga Conference and trained with various world renowned Yoga instructors including Seane Corn, Rodney Yee, and Natasha Rizopoulos.  With her background training in various different styles of Yoga, Carolyn has pulled the best of all her accumulated knowledge into her instruction.  She appreciates the alignment of Iyengar Yoga, the creative flow of Vinyasa Yoga, the energy of Kundalini Yoga, the power of Ashtanga Yoga, the internal connection of Raja Yoga, the silliness of Laughter Yoga, and the and the detoxification of Hot Yoga.  In the end, Carolyn believes, "it's ALL Yoga!  Yoga to try it!  It feels amazing!"

ROBIN ABRA

Robin Abra fell in love with yoga about 10 years ago and has been practicing ever since. What started out as a way to help with lower back and hip pain, evolved into a practice that contained much more than mere physical benefits. As Robin’s personal practice matured, she began to feel a deeper sense of peace and balance both on and off the mat. As a mother to two young children, and a former high school teacher, yoga became an even more important facet of her life. This growing sense of balance and peace helped Robin to decide to pursue her dream of being a yoga instructor; she has graduated from the 500 hour SOYA Teacher Training Program (RYT500). Robin strongly believes that anybody can practice yoga, and that everybody can benefit from this practice on many levels. All that is needed is an open mind and the ability to listen to your own body.

COREY MOONEY

Corey Mooney tried yoga in the 70's but just couldn't get it. With BKS Iyengar's book Light on Yoga she struggled but wasn't understanding what the consept of linking mind, body and spirit was. In the late 90's she tried again and was amazed to discover a love for the poses and peaceful union with the mind. A background as a Fitness Leader it was natural to start instructing at the YMCA in 2000 and worked to share the gift of Yoga working at Chinook Yoga, various Community Centers, Women's Zone Fitness, UNBC Fitness Centre until finally deciding to open The Lily Garden Studio (formerly The Zen Garden Studio). With training mostly in the Iyengar method of yoga Corey uses props to help get our stiff bodies safely into the postures. Corey is a certified yoga instructor having graduated from the 500 hour SOYA Teacher Training Program (RYT500).

ROBIN WRIGHT

Robin Wright became a student of Iyengar Yoga in Vancouver in 1979 and took classes on and off for 10 years.  I had an instantaneous and profound connection to Yoga with my first class and knew that it would always be a part of my life. I studied Yoga with the Victoria Yoga Centre for 5 years beginning in 1998.  I had the opportunity to study with many wonderful Iyengar Yoga teachers including Geeta Iyengar when she visited Vancouver in 2001.  In 2009 I completed the 500 hour Yoga teacher training through SOYA and I am a member of Yoga Alliance as an RYT500.  I continue with my Yoga Teacher Training whenever possible and have had the good fortune to teach and train at the Prince George YMCA as well as the Chinook Yoga Centre since 1998.    Namaste

ALICE MUIRHEAD

Alice has been practicing yoga on and off for nearly ten years, as a physical practice to enhance body awareness and flexibility. She recently spent six months traveling in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India, learning new things, meeting new people and expanding her yoga practice. While in India, she completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher training over one month at Ashiyana Yoga Center. This training program exposed her to the many aspects of yoga that go beyond the physical body. She has returned to Prince George for school and work and is excited about the opportunity to share her training with students at the Lily Garden. Her classes will focus on creating a sense of peace and balance within, while increasing flexibility and strength in the physical body.

MAGGEE SPICER

Maggee Spicer began yoga classes when she turned 50. From her first class she felt that she had come “home” to herself. For the past 10 years, yoga has continued to be a precious gift and a reminder to be calm and centered in the midst of the ups and downs of daily living. Maggee believes that gentle yoga can help maintain our body’s flexibility, strength and mobility as we age. And, as a teacher of young children, she knows that yoga can just be plain fun.
Maggee currently holds a Level I Iyengar teacher certification.
